Which Kitchen Gadgets And Tools Do You Need?

If you watch cooking shows very often, you probably see all kinds of fancy gadgets. They have stand mixers and immersion blenders. They have brand name pots, pans, and utensils from Williams-Sonoma. Of course, I’m insanely jealous of most of these TV kitchens, but frankly, it’s mostly overkill.

I put together a video to help the cooking newbies understand just which kitchen gadgets and tools you need to have on hand to get started with righteous cooking. Most of you that have been doing any measurable amount of cooking are probably mostly set, but for those just starting out, here’s my advice.

Kitchen Gadgets And Tools

This video is right at 15 minutes, a bit longer than usual, but it covers the key kitchen items and provides advice on how to buy just what you need, while keeping the total cost to $200, give or take.

Here’s a complete list with some suggestions: Outfitting Your Kitchen – Shopping List. Of course, you can spend more on some nicer things, particularly in the knives department, but this stuff will get you started nicely. It’s more about the chef than the tools.
