Randy Pausch Lecture
Here is an amazing lecture given by Randy Pausch, his final lecture ever. He’s not retiring. He’s 47 years old and is dying of cancer. It’s long, but well-worth the watch.
He impressed me right off the bat when he acknowledged the cancer, then proceeded to do clapping pushups. With 10 tumors in his liver. He may be dying, but he’s not giving up. Here are a few of his quotes that stuck out for me:
- “We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”
- “When you’re screwing up and no one’s saying anything to you anymore, that means they’ve given up.”
- “Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted.”
- Never lose the childlike wonder.
- Brick walls are there to show how badly we want something
It’s a good motivational lecture. Put it on through headphones at work.
